There is something quite strange about life: the tighter we hold on, the more we feel we lack; but the more we give, the more fulfilled we become. It’s not because we suddenly have more, but because something inside us begins to change. Compassion—something that seems so “soft”—is actually a powerful source that allows us to touch a deeper, more lasting kind of happiness than any material possession.

We often think happiness comes from achieving something: money, a good job, a stable life. But sometimes, the smallest moments—helping a stranger, listening to someone who is exhausted, or simply sharing something kind—can make our hearts feel lighter. In those moments, we realize: happiness is not only found in “having,” but also in “giving.”

Compassion doesn’t require grand gestures. It begins with putting ourselves in someone else’s place. When we understand their pain, their struggles, or what they’re going through, we naturally want to do something—even if it’s just a small act. And those small acts, when multiplied, can create real change.
